Greetings Brethren,

I hope this copy of the Temple Topics finds you and your family well. Fall is upon us. The leaves are starting to change colors, football is in full swing, the boys of summer are about ready to play their championship series, and some of us are getting ready to travel south to follow the warmth of the sun.

As I had mentioned in last monthÃÔ edition I would update you on the final two events of the summer. We had 28 people participate in the Lincoln/McKinley Lodge Golf Outing. This is the 3rd year we have done this joint event at Kettle Hills Golf Course. The weather was perfect, though my golf game was far from it. My team came in last place. Everyone who participated had a great time and the fellowship with members of other lodges and non-members was wonderful. I would like to give special congratulations to Brother Ken Gorgen as he received the shortest drive award. We also had our annual trip to the Wisconsin Dells. This is the eighth year we have done this trip. We had five families that met up at the Kalahari. The kids (and moms and dads) ran throughout the water park enjoying everything it had. At night we all got together for a pizza dinner and a little social hour. Thanks to everyone who came out to make this event a great time.

At the beginning of September, we returned from summer recess to have our annual Corn and Brat Roast. It is always nice to see all the brethren and their families that come to this event as we usually see some brethren that arenÃÕ able to make it to other meetings or events. This year we continued a new tradition by having tropical shirt night. Congratulations to Brother Jerry Robison who was voted as having the best tropical shirt. I would also like to thank Brothers Ken Gorgen, Don Christiaansen and Mike Gorgen who prepared the dinner for us. The food was delicious.

Now on to upcoming eventsspan style="mso-spacerun: yes"> On Thursday, October 6th at 6:00 pm is our Past MasterÃÔ Night and Dinner. We are also fortunate to have two EA degrees that night. Come support our new brethren as they begin their journey in Masonry. Then on October 21st from 5:00 to 7:00 pm we will be having our fall All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry to support the Waukesha County Food Pantry. This is a great event that helps out the community. Since we have been doing this to support the food pantry, we have given over 20 boxes of food and over $500 dollars. At a time where there is 9% unemployment and some people are struggling to put food on the table, this is an opportunity to help. The cost is $11.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors, $6.00 for children 5 to 10, children under 5 are free. If you bring a food pantry donation, you will receive $1.00 off your ticket price. If you donÃÕ have a donation, McKinley Lodge will donate a part of the cash receipt to the food pantry. The Spring Fish Fry was a huge success; letÃÔ make this one even better.

In November, we will have our election night and dinner at the first stated meeting on November 3rd. Dinner is at 6:00 pm. Remember Brethren this is the night we elect our new officers for the next year. Then on Saturday, November 5th at 6:00 pm we will be having our annual Ladies at the Table dinner. Tickets are limited and available from any officers for $20.00. Tickets must be purchased by October 28th.

Finally, I would like to get a couple of events on your calendar as the end of the year will come up quick. On Thursday, December 1 at 6:00 pm, we will be decorating the Lodge for the holidays, enjoying a light dinner and a visit from Santa for the Kids. Then on Saturday, December 3rd at 2:00 pm we will have our installation of officers. Please come out to support our new officers. Both events are open to friends and families.

Brethren, Masonry is very much about the fellowship and camaraderie. I have been seeing that more and more with members of the Lodge at our events. Come out and be a part of that fun and fellowship. If you need someone to give you a ride, donÃÕ let that stop you. Contact our Secretary, Brother Brian Breitzmann (262-784-4176), and he will be more than happy to help arrange a ride for you.

Fraternally,

Michael A. Gorgen, P.M.
