November Message - 2011

Greetings Brethren,

It is a time of change as the seasons brings us color and the temperatures fall. I hope the change in seasons finds you and your families well.

At the beginning of October we had our Past MasterÃÔ Degree Night and Dinner. Prior to the meeting we had a wonderful dinner prepared by Acadia Chapter of Eastern Star. I would like to give a big thank-you to the ladies for the dinner. After being completely filled from our meal the Past Masters (with some assistance from a few others), put on not one, not two, not three, but four Entered Apprentices Degrees. The Past MasterÃÔ still have it as they did an excellent job. I would also like to note how the Lodge is growing. Our Counselor, Brother Ryan Mayrand, has close to 10 EAÃÔ that he is posting plus a few Master Masons. This work is done during the Lodge meetings so if you have ever been interested in helping new Masons learn their posting material, please contact Ryan and let him know. I am sure he would appreciate the assistance.

I would like to report on the happenings of the fish fry which occurred on October 21st, but at the time I wrote this the fish fry had not occurred. However, I would like to take the time to thank everyone who helped out and attended. I am sure it was a fantastic success with everyoneÃÔ effort.

Now on to upcoming eventsspan style="mso-spacerun: yes"> In November, we will have our election night and dinner at the first stated meeting on November 3rd. Dinner is at 6:00 pm. Remember Brethren this is the night we elect our new officers for the next year. Then on Saturday, November 5th at 6:00 pm we will be having our annual Ladies at the Table dinner. Tickets are limited and available from any officers for $20.00. Tickets must be purchased by October 28th. This yearÃÔ menu will be an appetizer platter with cheese, crackers, and some fruit, a salad with a raspberry/walnut vinaigrette dressing, cream of mushroom soup, stuffed pork loin with potatoes and carrots, and finishing it up with mixed berries and granola over some ice cream. This is a great event; I hope to see you all there.

Finally, on Thursday, December 1 at 6:00 pm, we will be decorating the Lodge for the holidays, enjoying a light dinner and a visit from Santa for the Kids. If your child will be at this event, please contact Mike Gorgen (262-820-0812) with the number of children and their ages. That way Santa can have a gift for each child. Then on Saturday, December 3rd at 2:00 pm we will have our installation of officers with a reception to follow. Please come out to support our new officers. Both events are open to friends and families.

Brethren, Masonry is very much about the fellowship and camaraderie. I have been seeing that more and more with members of the Lodge at our events. Come out and be a part of that fun and fellowship. If you need someone to give you a ride, donÃÕ let that stop you. Contact our Secretary, Brother Brian Breitzmann (262-784-4176), and he will be more than happy to help arrange a ride for you.

I have been writing the Temple Topics for three years and this will be my final edition. It is time for me to pass on the baton to the new officer corps. I hope you have enjoyed reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

Fraternally,

Michael A. Gorgen, P.M.
