March Message - 2011

Post date: Dec 19, 2012 5:50:14 PM

Hello Brethren,

I hope this edition finds you all well, especially those who have been fighting the fun weather of February.

As I write this edition I am preparing to cheer on the Green Bay Packers to a victory in Super Bowl XLV (I guess I was successful). I have been thinking about what it took this team to get to this point. In the end, I believe it all totals up to team work. As players were injured others stepped up and took a stronger role. Players, who at the beginning of the season did not look like they would amount to much, have grown to become strong leaders. With the leadership of their teammates, rookies have made an impact. In the end, the Packers functioned as team to help each other grow and together reach their ultimate objective.

This same lesson can be applied to the Masonry. It takes all of us as a team to help make a man a Mason. It starts with the degree team that presents him his degrees. It comes from the membership sharing with him the collective knowledge that we, as members of the fraternity, have gained. It is making sure that he is welcomed into the Lodge when he comes for his education or activities. Even after he has received his degrees, it continues to be important that we work to help him and each member grow. From there that member will become an active part of our team and help other men become Masons.

February was a busy month for us. On February 3, Brother Todd Jaremko hosted a chili dinner for the Lodge. The food was excellent and the fellowship was fun. I would like to send out a thank-you to all who attended. On February 17, after the lodge meeting we initiated David Fonseca and Michael Seider into the fraternity. Please make sure that you take some time to welcome them into the Fraternity. On February 24th we raised Jose Rivera to the degree of Master Mason. The degree team did a great job. Please take time to congratulate Brother Jose on reaching this milestone. Finally, on February 26th we had our Family Movie Night where we watched the movie Ŷp It was nice evening of fun and good popcorn.

On Thursday, March 3 at 6:00 pm, prior to the meeting, we will be having a taco dinner with the youth groups. Come out and share some fellowship with our youth groups.

Please note that there is a SCHEDULE CHANGE for the World Famous All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry to benefit the Waukesha County Food Pantry. It will now be held on Friday, April 8th, from 5 to 7 pm. The cost is $11.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors, $6.00 for children 5 to 10, children under 5 are free. If you bring a food pantry donation, you will receive a dollar off your ticket price. If you donÃÕ bring a donation, we will donate a dollar on your behalf. This is a great event to help out our community, so please tell your friends and family and come out for a great meal. Also, we always need help running the event. There is always need for servers, ticket takers, people to collect dishes, or others to do dishes. If you can help out, please contact Senior Warden Todd Jaremko.

Finally, I would like to inform the membership that this will be the final issue of the Temple Topics printed by George Moe and Moe Printing. George is retiring and we thank him for all the time and effort he has given the Lodge to send you our monthly newsletter. Enjoy your retirement George. But Brethren, donÃÕ worry though, we have found someone else to print the topics, so you will not miss an issue.

Hopefully we will see you at one of the upcoming events or meetings. If you would like to attend a meeting or event and need a ride, let us know, we will be able to find someone to give you a lift. Give our secretary, Brother Brian Breitzmann a call (262-784-4176).

Fraternally,

Michael A. Gorgen, P.M.
