June Message - 2011

Greetings Brethren,

As summer quickly approaches, or at least I hope it will, I hope this issue of the Temple Topics

finds you and your family well.

On May 5th we passed Brother Jared Young to the degree Fellowcraft. Next time you are at the

lodge please take a moment to congratulate his advancement. The degree team did a nice job on

the degree. I would like to say thank you to all who participated. We also have another degree

coming up on Thursday, May 26th, at 7:00 pm. We will be raising Brother Dan Richardson to the

degree of Master Mason. I hope you can take a moment out of your schedule to join us and give

Brother Dan your support as he takes his next step in Masonry.

Also in May we had a pizza party prior to the first stated meeting. A variety of pizzas were served

for everyone to enjoy. Besides your traditional cheese pizza, there were meat lovers, barbeque

chicken, Mediterranean, and veggie. Most everyone tried something new and seemed to enjoy

it. As always, I would like to thank everyone who attended and to all the brethren who helped out

preparing the meal. Finally, we had our Lodge Clean-up on May 21st. A lot of work was put in by

everyone to make the Masonic Center look nice and clean, and that is appreciated by everyone

who uses the building.

As we move into June there are a few more events that you should be aware of. On Thursday,

June 2nd, at 6:00 pm, prior to the 1st Stated meeting, we will be having a Spaghetti dinner prepared

by Past Masters Ken and Mike Gorgen. There will be Spaghetti with or without meatballs, garlic

bread, salad and dessert. Cost for the dinner is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 10 and

under. I hope to see you all there. Also in June is our annual Table Lodge which will be held on

Friday, June 17th. This is our huge dinner which includes hors devours, home brewed beer from

Brother Ken and Brother Andy, French Onion Soup, Salad, a German Sausage Platter (Smoked

Pork Chop, Knackwurst, Kielbasa, Spaetzle, Red Cabbage), and dessert. Cost of the ticket is

$20.00 and will be available from any Lodge Officer or you can call Brother Chip Wood (262-957-

4138) to reserve your spot. Tickets must be purchased by June 10th.

Since this is our final issue before the summer recess, I would like to let you know about a couple

of summer activities. On Sunday, July 10th, from 10:30 am until you are finished enjoying the zoo,

we will be attending the Scottish Rite Masonic Zoofari. Cost is $23 per adult and $11 for children

(ages 3 to 11). If you are a Zoo member, the cost is $10 per adult and $8.00 for children. Your

admission price includes admission to the zoo, parking, lunch, beverages and fun. You need to

make your reservation with the Scottish Rite at pmisko@wsrf.org . Also contact WM James Lovett

if you plan on attending. We will be meeting at the Lodge prior to going to the Zoo. Saturday,

August 27th is our family trip to the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. This is an over-night event.

Cost for a room is $169.00 for a standard room or $229.00 for a two room suite. Please contact

the Kalahari for reservations (877-254-5466) and ask for the McKinley Lodge group. If you have

questions, please feel free to give Brother Mike Gorgen (262-264-0313) a call. Finally, please

remember that when we return from our summer recess, we will have our annual Corn and Brat

Roast on September 1st at 6:00 pm before the stated meeting. Just like last year, this will be our

Hawaiian/Tropical night. So wear your craziest shirt and we will vote on whose is the best.

Hopefully we will see you at one of the upcoming events or meetings.

Fraternally,

Michael A. Gorgen, P.M.
