February Message - 2011

Post date: Dec 19, 2012 5:48:22 PM

Hello Brethren,

Fraternal greetings to everyone. I hope this edition finds you and your family well!!!

We started our new year off with a wonderful dinner prepared by our Worshipful Master James Lovett prior to the stated meeting. A steak and twice baked potatoes was enjoyed by everyone. A special thank-you goes out to everyone who assisted with the dinner. It could not have been done without you. On January 20th, after the stated meeting, we had a Fellowcraft Degree for Brother Brian Carter. It was a good degree as the degree team did a nice job. As we move into the month of February, we will be having more degrees. There are two Entered Apprentice degrees coming up and a Master Mason Degree. Come and join us as these members either begin their journey or advance further in Masonry.

There are some activities for us in the month of February. Nothing warms you up more in the cold weather than a Chili dinner, which is what we will be having on Thursday, February 3 at 6:00 pm prior to the meeting. This dinner is hosted by our Senior Warden, Todd Jaremko. I expect it to be a good time of fun and fellowship as we are also planning on playing checkers during the meal. So dust off your checker boards and get some practice in as weÃÍl be looking to see who is the best checkers player. Please remember this dinner is open to all friends and family. Then on Saturday, February 26th at 6:00 pm, we will be having our annual Family Movie Night. This year we will be showing the movie Ŷp on the big wall. Popcorn and treats will be available for everyone, because in my mind, no movie is complete without popcorn. I hope to see you all there. Call Brother Mike Gorgen if you have questions (262-264-0313).

The World Famous All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry to benefit the Waukesha County Food Pantry is just around the corner. This will be held on Friday, March 18th, from 5 to 7 pm. The cost is $11.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors, $6.00 for children 5 to 10, children under 5 are free. If you bring a food pantry donation, you will receive a dollar off your ticket price. If you donÃÕ bring a donation, we will donate a dollar on your behalf. This is a great event to help out our community, so please tell your friends and family and come out for a great meal. Also, we always need help running the event. There is always need for servers, ticket takers, people to collect dishes, or others to do dishes. If you can help out, please contact Senior Warden Todd Jaremko.

Finally, as some of you may have read in the Masonic Journal, the Grand Lodge will once again be holding a degree competition on Saturday, April 30th at the Madison Masonic Center. This year the competition will be held in the Fellowcraft Degree. I have always been very proud of the degree work that the Lodge does and would like to take the work to the competition. So, I am putting a team together. The entry deadline is February 28th. I figure we will need ten people on the team. Once I have the team we will be holding regular practices. Please call Brother Mike Gorgen (262-264-0313) if you want to participate.

Hopefully we will see you at one of the upcoming events or meetings. If you would like to attend a meeting or event and need a ride, let us know, we will be able to find someone to give you a lift. Give our secretary, Brother Brian Breitzmann a call (262-784-4176).

Fraternally,

Michael A. Gorgen, P.M.
